No previous training required - This training is ideal for school leaders who are keen to implement trauma informed approaches in their setting but may be encountering resistance or finding it hard to get consistency of approach.

You may hold space and offer support every single day. Whilst your work is meaningful, it is also heavy. The emotional load can be intense, and it’s easy to forget that the person doing the helping also needs care.

Self-care isn’t just bubble baths or yoga (though those can help!). It’s about setting boundaries, asking for support, taking mental health breaks, and giving yourself permission to rest without guilt. It’s about listening to your own needs with the same compassion you give others.

Reflect on what recharges you, whether it’s a quiet walk, journaling, connecting with a friend, or simply saying no to something that drains your energy.
Remember: caring for yourself is not selfish, it’s essential. The more nourished you are, the more sustainably you can show up for those you serve.

This year’s theme reminds us that power can heal as much as it can harm. Through a trauma-informed lens, “Power for Good” means using our influence, voices, and actions to uplift, not to shame.

Whilst empowering those who’ve been silenced to speak out and seek safety, we also hold compassion for those who bully; understanding that behind hurtful behavior, there’s often pain, fear, and unmet needs.

When we see everyone’s humanity; both the hurt and the hurting, we create the safety and connection that make change possible. Together, let’s use our power for good. ✨
