You may hold space and offer support every single day. Whilst your work is meaningful, it is also heavy. The emotional load can be intense, and it’s easy to forget that the person doing the helping also needs care.
Self-care isn’t just bubble baths or yoga (though those can help!). It’s about setting boundaries, asking for support, taking mental health breaks, and giving yourself permission to rest without guilt. It’s about listening to your own needs with the same compassion you give others.
Reflect on what recharges you, whether it’s a quiet walk, journaling, connecting with a friend, or simply saying no to something that drains your energy.
Remember: caring for yourself is not selfish, it’s essential. The more nourished you are, the more sustainably you can show up for those you serve.
