Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m Chris, TIS Director for Social Change and Community Development. At 18, my ‘gap year’ became closer to twenty as I travelled and worked across Europe and then had two children before embarking on my university and PGCE studies. I have a long-held and deep-rooted passion to support those who champion, feel for and support our most vulnerable: children, young people and their parents/carers. I live teetering on the edge of the beautiful Norfolk coast. I love the arts, being in nature and I cherish time spent with family. I can do a pretty accurate impersonation of a hen. I am thrilled to be included as part of Team Wales.

What do you want everyone to know about TIS courses?

TIS courses are like no other! If you arrive with an eager mind and an open heart, the learning opportunities (both professionally and personally) will be transformative. I never cease to be moved by the strong bonds of connection delegates develop with each other and by the stories of lives changed by this work. I can’t wait to meet you!

Favourite joke?

It’s actually my only joke and involves mummy balloon, daddy balloon and baby balloon. However, I am met with loud groans of ‘NOOOOOOOOO, Ma, please ….. NOOOOOO’ and covered ears whenever I ask my grandchildren if they want to hear my joke, so I won’t put you through the agony.
