Tell us a bit about yourself
Hi everyone, I’m Leigh, a trainer, tutor and supervisor for TIS. My background is in therapy, having been an integrative counsellor in a diverse secondary school for over 14 years, alongside providing supervision and training to my educational trust. Prior to that I worked in community settings and for local charities, supporting incredible people living in extremely challenging circumstances.
I live just outside Bristol with my family (husband, two children and a dog we’re all obsessed with) and grew up in Clevedon, North Somerset, so I could see Wales from our beach! Outside of work I love going to the beach (obviously Welsh ones are the best) and baking with my kids - always messy but a good reward at the end
What do you want everyone to know about TIS courses?
Taking part in a TIS course is like being energised from within. It gives you the tools, the research and so importantly the confidence and belief to know that you can make a healing difference to all the children/young people you are working with, whether you have all day with them or just 10 minutes. Our TIS environment is a genuinely relaxed, warm and engaging place to be, where you will learn with a team of tutors and trainers who will be with you every step of the way to support, answer questions and make the experience enjoyable and rewarding.
Favourite joke?
There was a king once who was 12 inches tall. Terrible king, great ruler.
