Rhian Kenny
Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Rhian Kenny. I been a teacher for 34 years and recently retired (or rewiring as I like to put it!) as a headteacher in a primary school in Hendy where we endeavoured to create a safe haven for all children but particularly for children affected by trauma. I committed to a rolling programme of training as many staff possible as TIS practitioners (even with a budget deficit!). When I’m not delivering TIS training, I swim, enjoy walking and spending time with my family. I love ABBA and I love rugby – I’m a lifelong Scarlets supporter!
What do you want everyone to know about TIS courses?
I completed the TIS practitioner course in 2019 and it literally changed my life personally and professionally. What an impact this has had on our school ethos and wellbeing and we were accredited as Trauma Informed School this summer.
Favourite joke?
My favourite joke - “Why did the chicken go to the gym?” “To work on his pecks!”
